UNICEF Publicity Campaign Poisons New York - My Modern Metropolis
In a shock publicity campaign to create awareness for water-related diseases, UNICEF has installed a nasty vending machine on the streets of New York.
The Dirty Water vending machine pumps out eight different flavors of water, but they not your Perriers or Evians. Choose from a lovely concoction of malaria, dengue, salmonella or dysentary, just a few of the diseases that kill 4,200 children every day.
Thirsty passers-by can ‘buy’ a infected bottle for just a dollar, which goes directly to UNICEF’s efforts to provide clean water to those who need it.
According to the non-governmental body, just one dollar is enough to provide a child with 40 days worth of potable water.
So, quite literally, you can choose your poison for a good cause.
